The Meteoric Rise of Oni Chichi
Oni Chichi, one of the classic game adaptations by the H-animation production company PORO, narrates the story of the male protagonist Akizuki Kouzou's intense transgressions against the two daughters of his remarried partner.
The first episode went viral on the internet thanks to the protagonist's self-made "purple spray," which quickly became a meme across major Taiwanese platforms such as PTT and Bahamut.

In the first episode, Kouzou achieves his sinister intentions with his youngest daughter Airi, aided by Airi's classmate. Airi, who initially detested her stepfather, gradually falls into his web of "fatherly love" she can't escape.
By the second episode, Kouzou, having ensnared Airi, sets his sights on her sister Marina. Despite Airi's attempts to protect her sister by offering herself to satisfy Kouzou, Marina becomes aware of his true nature and refuses to succumb, yet she ultimately falls victim to the improved spray.

Eventually, both sisters become playthings for their father, concluding the plot of Oni Chichi 1 and 2.

Oni Chichi became popular not only because of its art style, which surpassed other hentai of the time, but also due to the iconic spray scene that ignited widespread online discussion. Furthermore, Airi's character transformation from a bratty child to a classic tsundere that "says no but means yes" captured hearts, making her one of the most beloved hentai heroines.
The Double-Edged Sword of Oni Chichi
Poro soared to fame with Oni Chichi, with its consistent depiction and sensual scenes featuring a tsundere heroine, as if they had found the secret to success. However, people can grow tired of the same old themes. At the same time, other H-animation companies started releasing works of higher quality and practicality, which led to PORO being labeled as a "copy-paste" company.

The subsequent Oni Chichi works deviated from initial themes of coercion to more lighthearted narratives, opening up another market. Though initially based on a game, the anime's popularity allowed PORO to venture into new directions, attempting to find a fresh position in the gradually cooling H-animation market.
Back to Games with Oni Chichi
The explosive popularity of the Oni Chichi anime also influenced BLUE GALE, the company behind the Oni Chichi game series, which released the new game "Oni Chichi After," featuring Airi. They even brought back Shirayuki Mitsu, who voiced Airi in the anime, to lend her voice again, adapting the game's CG style more closely to PORO's version.

Oni Chichi brought PORO an era of splendor, yet it also became a cause of stagnation for the company. Perhaps the market's demand for such works gave PORO the illusion they could profit easily. But a company that does not progress will naturally be eliminated over time.
Oni Chichi may not be the most functional H-animation, but it certainly stands as one of the classics, a catalyst for new directions in the H-animation market, and one of the longest-lasting series. Its influence extends to media, sometimes used as a term for offenders, making Oni Chichi more than just an animation or game, but rather a cultural phenomenon.
